Why I Teach
When doing co-op preschool I discovered a passion in teaching children at the precious ages of three & four. I love how they are so inquisitive! They teach me and I love discovering new subjects with them. When the “business side” of running a preschool gets me down, if I switch to planning preschool lessons I start to feel energized and excited! I look forward to getting to know the little ones you bring to my home and hope to be a part of helping them explore the world!
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from BYU Provo. (My one regret I have was that I was just one class short of a Child Development minor.) I have a minor in Business Administration and worked in the corporate world for four years before my children came along.
I taught preschool for nine years, teaching about thirty one children so far. I am CPR certified. I have training in basic First Aid and had a background check. My volunteering experiences with children have included a variety of school classrooms and volunteer leadership positions in PTA. I worked over eight years as a Cub Scout leader for Boy Scouts of America. I enjoyed working as mentor for school three Science Olympiad Teams in Utah.
Raised in the Salt Lake area, I have since enjoyed living in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Southern Utah, and now here in Meridian, Idaho! I enjoy reading, walking, & podcasts. I love exploring museums & historical sites and new sites in my community. I have six children–2 in college, 2 in high school, 2 in elementary school.
