Why I Teach
When doing co-op preschool I discovered a passion in teaching young children–I love how they are so inquisitive! They teach me and I love discovering new subjects with them. When the “business side” of running a preschool gets me down, if I switch to planning preschool lessons I start to feel energized and excited! I look forward to getting to know the little ones you bring to my home and hope to be a part of helping them explore the world!
Education
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from BYU Provo. (My one regret I have was that I was just one class short of a Child Development minor.) I have a minor in Business Administration and worked in the corporate world for four years before my children came along.
Experience
I have taught preschool in my home for 5 years. Before that, I did co-op preschools with my own children and their friends for 9 years. I am CPR certified including basic first aid and I had a background check. ( I am happy to provide those as requested.) My volunteering experiences with children have included: school classrooms, leadership in PTA, a Cub Scout leader, a mentor for middle & high school Science Olympiad Teams and on the Choir Board for high school.
Personal Life
Raised in the Salt Lake area, I have since enjoyed living in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Southern Utah, Idaho and we are now in the process of moving to Austin, Texas! I enjoy reading, walking, & podcasts. I love exploring museums & historical sites and new sites in my community. I have six children in all difference life stages–2 graduated from Boise State, 1 “figuring life out”, 1 attending BYU Provo, 1 in high school and 1 in elementary school.
